A collaboration between ocean resilience nonprofit Blue Action and startup hub Founders Factory, Blue Action Accelerator was founded in 2019 in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian’s devastation of the Bahamas, which highlighted the urgent need for solutions to address rising climate risk. It offers a pre-seed and seed impact investment programme for technology startups working at the “climate x ocean” nexus, helping companies test, prove and finance innovative ocean technologies. Jeff Stoike, president of Blue Action and the accelerator’s chief strategy officer, speaks to us about the blue economy investment space and where Blue Action’s work fits in.
