FAQ
Impact investing means different things to different people. In general, impact investments are made with the intention to generate positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. Impact investments can be made in both emerging and developed markets, and target a range of returns from below market to market rate, depending on investors' strategic goals. While Investable Oceans believes in the importance of making a difference with the dollars it directs towards projects and companies, we seek to achieve these positive outcomes while still attaining at or near market returns.
Investable Oceans is not a registered broker-dealer, but for regulatory purposes we conduct capital raising activities through an affiliation with Marco Polo Securities Inc, a member of SIPC and FINRA.
At present we are focused on building a high quality, broad community of likeminded investors and offerors, so for the near term we’re not charging anybody! Over time, as we see who is deriving value from the platform, we will explore multiple sources of revenue.
Investable Oceans is a for-profit company focused on raising capital for entrepreneurs committed to building a sustainable blue economy. We are compensated for capital raising activities for companies, but there is no cost for Accredited Investors to participate on our platform. We also engage in a variety of advisory assignments in the blue economy ecosystem. For more information, feel free to reach out to us at contact@investableoceans.com.

We source invest opportunities through our connections in the ocean community: scientists, philanthropists, business people and others with specific domain expertise. We also cultivate relationships with entities that diligence and fund earlier stage companies, such as incubators, accelerators and competitions. External validation is of great value to our platform, since we do not perform extensive diligence on listed companies and do not make investment recommendations.
