COP29 – What place for the ocean in the ‘Finance COP’?

The conclusions are clear: the world is off track, and the window of opportunity to course correct is closing rapidly. More than just an assessment, the Global Stocktake outlines concrete pathways to steer our climate trajectory back on track. Parties are now expected to act on these findings by submitting new, more ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) – the main implementation tool of the Paris Agreement – by February 2025.
