Just a short distance offshore, a floating enclosure resembling a rectangular dock bobbed in the waves.

Inside the netting of the sea pen — known as the AquaFort — were around 3,000 steelhead trout that have been growing over the winter, many of which are destined for dinner plates at a local restaurant about a mile away.
